Ladies, tired of the cold weather and already dreaming of a hot Summer? A lot of my female friends keep asking me what the trends will be this Spring Summer. Well, here they are:

Cropped tops

Don’t think Britney Spears deluxe, this trend is all about showing off your midriff (not your navel!), so combine them with high-rise pants/skirts.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2012

Miu Miu Spring Summer 2012

Sportswear

Sporty Spice is back, but – thank God! – in a good way. Think Lacoste chic and you’re ready to go!

Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2012

Pastel

Bye, bye, neon colors… pastel is taking over! Color block your outfit with pastel colors and you make a much softer statement.

Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012

3.1 Phillip Lim Spring Summer 2012

Art Deco

Straight silhouettes, Art Deco influences… . Let’s go back to the Roaring Twenties!

Gucci Spring Summer 2012

Chloé Spring Summer 2012

Ocean’s ’12

Underwater world colors and prints, coral red, mermaid dresses… fashion has finally found its Atlantis.

Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2012

Moschino Cheap And Chic Spring Summer 2012

Everybody Balenciaga

Cristobal Balenciaga’s oeuvre keeps on giving, and not only to Nicolas Ghesquière. A lot of designers are obsessed by the sculptural silhouettes and the Fifties couture shapes.

I was very excited about the fact I was seated front row the Frankie Morello show, but once the show started there was literally nothing to be excited about. Some pieces were ok, but seriously, do today’s women really want the Duomo on top of their head or a jumpsuit with the Tower of Pisa on it? Well, I don’t think so! Maybe Maurizio Modica and Pierfrancesco Gigliotti don’t take fashion too serious or they wanted to show their love about Italy… I don’t know, but what I know for sure is that I don’t like the collection. Non mi piace at all!

Gianfranco Ferré is always a favorite during Milan Fashion Week, so I was very happy I could see the show with my own eyes. Such elegance! It is the first women’s collection designed by brand new Creative Directors Stefano Citron and Federico Piaggi and they didn’t disappoint! The styles were overwhelmingly belted black and white looks. But fuchsia and violet dresses are infusing the collection with a bit of color. I was surprised to see feathered dresses that are more couture than the other looks. I think this collection will sure attract women looking for chic officewear. Bravo, Stefano e Federico!

9.30 am. is insanely early to go to a fashion show, but once the Dsquared² show starts you feel the need to go out and dance. Pumping beats, high energy, amazing stage, crazy models… Dsquared² shows are always a party!

This season’s show started with a live version of Lady Gaga’s song ‘You & I’. And for a minute we all thought she was really there, but no, she wasn’t! Dean and Dan were inspired by the Glastonbury Festival (yes, there was mud!), so the Spring Summer 2012 collection was very rock ‘n’ roll with leather jackets and pants, fringes, sequins, denim, long dresses and neon colors (yellow, orange, magenta, purple, turquoise and green). I think we will see a lot of Dsquared² next festival season… and it’s definitely a good thing!

While seated close to Anna Wintour I enjoyed one of the most beautiful shows of Milan Fashion Week. Salvatore Ferragamo’s Spring Summer 2012 collection features bold and bright colors, floral patterns and form fitting silhouettes. Models were walking down the runway in flowing dresses draped gracefully. But there are also tailored suits, maxi-bags, clutches and silk sashes tied around the waste. I think this collection is perfect for fashionistas planning a trip to the beach. And with colors going from bright red to bold blue, Massimiliano Giornetti designed a collection that is ideal for the chic and stylist woman. Perfection!

For their latest menswear collection Dsquared² takes us on a trip around Europe. Starting with a trek through the mountains and fjords of Scandinavia before spending the rest of the vacation through the sun-drenched beaches of Mykonos, those scenic romantic nights of Florence, and the posh party streets of London.

For our stay in Scandinavia Dsquared² adopts a sporty look with multi-colored garments: light waterproof jackets, colorful knitted sweaters and hats, ankle lenght trousers with thick socks and colorful boots. Our next stop is Mykonos. We’re going to the beach wearing hotpants, sexy swimwear, flip-flops… all in bright colors. After tanning the days away we’re ready for a romantic stay in Florence. Dsquared² adopts an Italian look with refined and chic tailored suits, double-breasted blazers, ankle length trousers and handmade leather sandals. Our last stop is London and we’re going for a more rock ‘n roll look. Skinny silhouettes, studs, leather, animal prints… and we’re ready for a night around town.

The Spring Summer 2012 menswear collection of Ports 1961 is all about classic casual suits and geometry. The brand offers luxury ready-to-wear clothing with slim silhouettes and fitted designs. There are double-breasted blazers and sleeveless trench coats, slim trousers and loose-fitting ones. Colors are quite sober… from white and beige to midnight blue. I love the entire collection, especially the blazers and trench coats. Yes, I need some more Ports 1961 in my closet!
