Despite the arguments of animal rights activists, the Fall Winter 2013-14 catwalks were full of fur. Ermine, fox, mink and racoon were omni-présent. From the traditional fur coat to furry accessories, designers went totally crazy. And with so much fur, the animalistic elements of the collections continue with animal prints on literally everything. One rule you have to keep in mind: More is more!

And with Summer almost coming to an end – hello, rain! – it’s time to think about your Winter garderobe. A lot of my female friends keep asking me what the trends will be this Fall Winter. Well, here they are:

Bourgeois lady

She is chic and always showing off her most feminine side. Wear lace, luxurious fabrics, embroidery, sky high heels, extra large jewelry… and be the Uptown girl you always wanted to be.

Dolce & Gabbana Fall Winter 2012-13

Lanvin Fall Winter 2012-13

Countryside

Horseback riding is back in fashion! ‘Oh no!’ I hear you say. No worries! Just spice up your outfit with one eyecatcher, like a saddlebag or a jockey cap, and you’re fine.

Ralph Lauren Collection Fall Winter 2012-13

Tommy Hilfiger Fall Winter 2012-13

Red fruit

Red is the new black! Raspberry pink, strawberry red, burgundy (big trend!)… combine different shades of red for a head-to-toe look or make it softer by adding powder pink or white.

Balenciaga Fall Winter 2012-13

Haider Ackermann Fall Winter 2012-13

Garçonne

Think Marlène Dietrich and her garçonne look. Suits, blazers, shirts, hats, ties… ladies, take a look in your boyfriend’s closet!

A.F. Vandevorst Fall Winter 2012-13

Sonia Rykiel Fall Winter 2012-13

Prints!

Retro, colorful and arty. Never a boring fashion moment when you mix prints. But beware, keep the cut simple!

Ladies, tired of the cold weather and already dreaming of a hot Summer? A lot of my female friends keep asking me what the trends will be this Spring Summer. Well, here they are:

Cropped tops

Don’t think Britney Spears deluxe, this trend is all about showing off your midriff (not your navel!), so combine them with high-rise pants/skirts.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2012

Miu Miu Spring Summer 2012

Sportswear

Sporty Spice is back, but – thank God! – in a good way. Think Lacoste chic and you’re ready to go!

Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2012

Lacoste Spring Summer 2012

Pastel

Bye, bye, neon colors… pastel is taking over! Color block your outfit with pastel colors and you make a much softer statement.

Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012

3.1 Phillip Lim Spring Summer 2012

Art Deco

Straight silhouettes, Art Deco influences… . Let’s go back to the Roaring Twenties!

Gucci Spring Summer 2012

Chloé Spring Summer 2012

Ocean’s ’12

Underwater world colors and prints, coral red, mermaid dresses… fashion has finally found its Atlantis.

Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2012

Moschino Cheap And Chic Spring Summer 2012

Everybody Balenciaga

Cristobal Balenciaga’s oeuvre keeps on giving, and not only to Nicolas Ghesquière. A lot of designers are obsessed by the sculptural silhouettes and the Fifties couture shapes.

Last year in July I’ve booked myself a 2 day trip to Paris to see my beautiful Halina. Finally reunited after we met in September 2009 during New York Fashion Week. We had such a great time! Dinner at Hôtel Costes, drinks in Buddha Bar, posing, nice chats, laughing, Marais shopping… j’adore Halina, j’adore Paris! I love looking back at pictures and since my blog is getting more personal I decided to do an outfit post about it. Curious what we were wearing during our night out in Paris?

Flowers are a common Spring sight, but this Fall designers put the print on cold-weather clothes too, whether in the form of dandelions at Miu Miu, Jil Sander’s colorful daisies, or Ming vase-inspired patterns from Mary Katrantzou. Flower Power! But if you don’t want to look like a total garden, just wear one flower print garment and keep the rest simple and clean.
