After attending several shows in Milan during men’s Fashion Week and following London Collections and Paris Fashion Week on NowFashion.com and Style.com, I’m looking forward to Spring Summer 2015. And this are the 5 biggest trends:

WHITE

White is by far the biggest color statement next Summer season. From suits and parkas to slouchy trousers… all look better in white, or so it seems.

John Varvatos Spring Summer 2015

Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2015

Neutrality

Au revoir, bright colors! The Spring Summer 2015 collections have a more neutral color palette, featuring mints, blushes, beiges, greiges and khakis.

Dries Van Noten Spring Summer 2015

Maison Martin Margiela Spring Summer 2015

Patterned

Patterns are totally back: polka dots, vertical stripes, zig zags… . Wear them head-to-toe, like in a suit, or don’t be afraid to mix them either.

Gucci Spring Summer 2015

Kenzo Spring Summer 2015

3D

This is not a major trend, but mark my words… it will be in the future. New forms of embellishment and old live together with cut outs, passementerie, embossing and quilting.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2015

Ermenegildo Zegna Spring Summer 2015

Bombing

Nothing new here. The bomber jacket has been back for a couple of seasons now. But next Spring Summer, this trend will be in full force.

Last Sunday at the Marni presentation in Milan. Consuelo Castiglioni’s latest menswear collection is all about structural and elegant designs, perfect for the modern, contemporary (and probably artistic) man. The collection features prints that pop (poppies everywhere!), blocky topcoats, structural cropped jackets and a slew of rich colors. Castiglioni had French model Vincent LaCrocq photographed for her new lookbook, symbolising the new Marni man.

Last Monday in Milan, Messagerie showed their Spring Summer 2015 menswear collection. Inspired by Fellini’s Casanova, a modern symbol of glamour and sophistication, Patrizio Piscaglia created a dream of beauty. The collection revisits the past and the avant-garde in transgressive terms, able to mix styles and trends, typical of Messagerie. A rather sober color palette, with colors like black and white, mud, green, blue, beige and natural, pushes the prints in the spotlight, representing the philosophy of the brand. One of my favourites during Milan Fashion Week, a new it-brand is born! Soon available at Vaudeville Aarschot!

Already curious about the Fall Winter 2014-15 menswear trends? Well, after attending several shows in Milan during men’s Fashion Week and following London Collections and Paris Fashion Week on NowFashion.com and Style.com, I give you the 5 biggest trends:

Camel!

Bye, bye, burgundy! Camel is the new it-color! From jackets with extravagant details, skinny tailoring… to pea coats, one of the most chic and elegant colors is back in fashion.

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2014-15

Salvatore Ferragamo Fall Winter 2014-15

Skinny feelings

I’ve never been a fan of the oversized trend, so I’m most happy designers are turning the tide. Though blazers and skinny trousers always steal the show when it comes to tailoring. The Fall Winter 2014-15 catwalks confirm that the skinny trend is here to stay.

Prada Fall Winter 2014-15

Saint Laurent Fall Winter 2014-15

Knitted

Mix and match, embroidered, multi-colored, patterned, oversized, cable knits… anything goes in terms of knitwear next Fall Winter season.

Fendi Fall Winter 2014-15

Kris Van Assche Fall Winter 2014-15

Furs

Fur, fur, FUR!!! No more to say.

Burberry Prorsum Fall Winter 2014-15

Costume National Fall Winter 2014-15

Check mate

The never-ending love affair between checks and fashion. Tweed, tartan, Prince of Wales… continue to feature in everything from tailoring to outerwear and of course the odd kilt.
