In a season dominated by the color black, I’m most happy I saw a lot of red on the Fall Winter 2013-14 catwalks. Valentino started the trend a couple of years ago, but now the color of love is hot and happening. Light up dark Winter days by adding some red to your outfits or those who dare can go head-to-toe.

Paris Fashion Week is all about French fashion, but since we Belgians don’t have our own Fashion Week, Belgium is omni-présent in Paris. Ann Demeulemeester’s black and white madness, Anthony Vaccarello’s rising star, Dries Van Noten just being Dries Van Noten, Haider Ackermann’s perfection, the ever mysterious Martin Margiela, Raf Simons’ Dior mania… . Yes, Belgian fashion – well-known for it’s avant-garde touch – is on a roll. Small country, great talent. And I’m proud… proud to be a Belgian!

Trends come and go, faster and faster! Yes, ladies, it’s time to you the 5 biggest Fall Winter 2013-14. After seeing almost every show this Fashion Week season on NowFashion.com and Style.com, and doing a 24 hours Paris Fashion Week trip, I came to the following conclusion:
Rouge, ça bouge!
And with red, I mean RED, the color of love.
Architectural
Structured, sharp and tailored. This season is all about shape and dimensions, so very architectural or engineered.
Heavy metal
Brighten up those dark Winter days by adding silver and gold to your outfits.
Leather love
Leather all the way, fashioned into suits, dresses, skirts, coats… .
Jungle fever
Léopard, zebra, tiger… it’s time to release that inner beast in you. Dare to go head-to-toe animal, no limits!

You can talk about Chanel, Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Prada… all you want, but they already have a name in the world of fashion. There are so many designers out there who are truly talented and work hard to deliver each season a magnificent collection. That’s why I put a spotlight on Antoine + Stanley, an Australian based shoe (and accessory) brand, who really deserves the attention. Designer and founder, Paul Waddy, creates shoes that combine the flawless craftsmanship of European brogues with the modern man’s quest to establish his own fashion identity.
The Fall Winter 2012-13 collection is all about vintage-inspired styles with a focus on reasonably-priced quality and unexpected modern twists. Yes, totally my cup of tea! There are too many lovely pairs, so I’ve picked my 5 favourite ones:
They’re available for purchase internationally via Asos.com, and the full range can be browsed at Antoineandstanley.com.
Ladies, already curious what the hottest trends will be next Summer season? Well, here they are:
Samurai chic
Think kimono like garments, Japanese floral prints, high belts and Samurai armoured shoulders. Fashion is looking eastwards. Hello, Japan!
Bright colors
Colors are brighter than ever. From fuchsia to ochre and emerald green to cobalt blue, wear them ton-sur-ton or go for a degradée style. Color blocking is officialy OUT!
Stripes galore
Stripes are back! Horizontal, vertical or oblique? It doesn’t matter! As long as you wear stripes, you’re fine.
Trapeze artist
The new shape this season is trapeze, and it’s most visible in skirts and dresses. A cool and minimalistic trend that flatters almost every body type.
Prints!
This season is all about optical and figurative prints. Never mix those two, dare to go head-to-toe!
