Beautiful Bavaria: a mindful holiday

As you already know, I’m busy starting my own business as a Social Artvisor, with focus on Instagram, and how to grow and attract new followers/clients in a sustainable and honest way. #hetnieuweinsta (#thenewinsta) But through my personal Instagram account, I also want to be a minimalistic and mindful influencer. The so-called Minfluencer. So in between the ‘business-like’ blog posts I will write more personal ones about my life, travels, art, etc., showing a bit more about myself. In English, so all my followers got the opportunity to read them.

And here it is, blog post #1, about our wonderful holiday through beautiful Bavaria. No surprise this is the first one to be written. Why? Because we went right before I came out of the closet with my new business, ánd it was the first time that I traveled with my boyfriend for 2 weeks.

Our first trip together

So we were off! Destination: Bayern! Why Bavaria? A lot of people asked…, but for us this choice was quite obvious. We both love nature and history, so no shock that we choose this destination as our first trip together. The land of Ludwig II and Sissi has a lot to offer, from impressive green landscapes to fairytale castles and towns. Et en plus: the silence! In some parts, there wasn’t even phone connection…, so we could easily switch off ourself as well. Mindfulness at its best, don’t you think?

Even though the entire trip was one big highlight, I would like to give you my top 3:

1.Neuschwanstein

Royal history, one of the things my boyfriend and I have in common. So – of course! – we’ve visited the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein, the #1 tourist attraction of Germany. Ok, not really a mindful thing to do with all those tourists… but hey, you haven’t been in Bavaria if you haven’t seen this beautiful schloss. Ánd we were there during low season (the first 2 weeks of September), which I really recommend!

Schloss Neuschwanstein was built in the second half of the 19th century by Ludwig II von Bayern, the fairytale king. During the guided tour, you get a lot of information about his (tragic) life and why he was so obsessed with everything ‘fairytale’ and medieval, which reflects in the eclectic in- and exterieur of probably the most famous castle in the world. Fun fact: did you know Walt Disney was inspired by Neuschwanstein for the castle of Sleeping Beauty?

2.The mountains

As I’ve mentioned before, two of the reasons we’ve chosen Bavaria, was because of its beautiful nature and the silence/rest. Put those two ingredients together, add a lot of green, and it’s no surprise that most of the time you could find us in the mountains. The ultimate relaxation, even when it was pouring rain sometimes. From hiking around Garmish-Partenkirchen to drinking beer on top of the Jenner (1.874 m) overlooking the Königssee area. The Bavarian Alps has a lot to offer!

3.Staying at Ruby Lilly

We’ve booked most of our hotels and b&b’s on the day of arrival, so we were flexible all the time. Except for Munich. There we wanted to stay at the Ruby Lilly Hotel. Attracted by the unique design concept and minimalistic style, this hotel was also a highlight in terms of a good night’s rest (those beds!). Our other hotels were in typical alpstyle, cosy and authentic, but as a minimalist I have to say that the Ruby Lilly was my favourite!

I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading this blog post!? It’s the first personal one in quite some time. For more information about me being a Minfluencer, or if you want to collaborate, don’t hesitate to contact me!
