Moncler goes Scottish

Moncler Gamme Bleu, probably the biggest show I saw during Milan Fashion Week. And a show it was, what a setting! Seated in a winter wonderland featuring fallen knights rung through by Moncler ski poles, I rather had the feeling I was on the set of Braveheart than being there to see Thom Browne’s latest collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu.

Each season Browne finds a new way to reinterpret the puffy quilted jacket that is the beating heart of the brand. And this time Scotland was his inspiration, using clan tartan prints on everything, from quilted cape jackets and trousers to kilts, knee high socks, ski hats and slim ties. All things Scottish, maybe a bit too Scottish, but a lot of the pieces were actually quite wearable on their own.
