Etro Fall Winter 2013-14

Let’s start my Milan Fashion Week reviews with Etro, one of the shows I enjoyed the most. Where other designers decided to deliver sober collections, Kean Etro did the complete opposite by adding lots of color, from pumpkin orange to midnight blue. A color explosion toned down for Winter. It’s always nice to see those kinds of collections. It gives you instant happiness.

Kean looked to barbarians and Celtic symbology to create a multicultural mix of menswear ideas. Jersey knits play the main role, appearing throughout the entire collection and ending up looking like tartan or corduroy, even in suits. Lots of patchwork, velvet, fur, jewelry… no, an Etro collection is never boring! The look is elongated and agile: slim at the bottom under egg-shaped tops with dropped shoulders and generous volumes. Just the way I like it!
